Red Sandalwood Farming Process

Understanding how we cultivate this valuable resource

The Red Sandalwood Advantage

Red sandalwood (Pterocarpus Santalinus) is one of the world's most valuable trees, known for its rich red wood and medicinal properties. It is a rare and protected species that grows primarily in India.

What makes our farming approach special is the use of grafted plants instead of seeds. While seed-planted trees take up to 15 years to yield returns, our grafted plants produce results within 8-12 years, significantly reducing the waiting period for our investors.

Our agricultural experts carefully monitor and maintain each tree to ensure optimal growth and maximum value at harvest time.

The Cultivation Process

Selection of Grafted Plants

We carefully select high-quality grafted red sandalwood plants that have been scientifically developed to grow faster and produce better yields compared to seed-grown plants.

Land Preparation

The land is carefully prepared with the right soil composition and drainage systems to create the optimal growing environment for red sandalwood trees.

Irrigation System Installation

Advanced drip irrigation systems are installed to provide precise water delivery during the first two years when regular water supply is crucial for establishment.

Initial Growth Period (Years 1-2)

During the first two years, trees receive regular water supply through the drip irrigation system. Our team provides careful monitoring and maintenance to ensure healthy establishment.

Natural Growth Period (Years 3+)

After the initial establishment period, the trees can thrive on seasonal rainfall. Red sandalwood is naturally drought-resistant once established, making it a sustainable crop.

Ongoing Protection & Maintenance

Throughout the growth period, we provide 24/7 security with CCTV surveillance, regular health checks, and protection against pests and diseases to ensure optimal growth.

Harvesting (Years 8-12)

When the trees reach maturity (typically 8-12 years for our grafted plants), harvesting is conducted according to government regulations. Each tree can yield approximately 300kg of valuable wood.
